Local Hamburg heroes Deo & Z-man get their groove on in spectacular fashion with 'XTC' – a release that manages to be both dance floor dynamite and wryly tongue in cheek.
Four different takes of 'XTC' grace this release, kicking off with the 8-minute original version. A slamming old school electro beat ushers in something a little special here – fat analog bass lines collide with cut up vocal stabs, tight percussion and a classic 80s–referencing robotic 'XTC' lyric. Ironically celebrating the rave drug of choice, the track somehow manages to subvert its influences while maintaining its shape as a supreme body-rocking jam.
The Club version takes things up a notch further by pushing the tempo up to 120, and straightening out the beat a little, priming it to go over big in the right setting.
Berliner Till von Sein adds his own magic touch to his version, drawing on his vast production talents to add new layers of atmosphere to the track.
Likewise, Erobique’s 112 BPM workout lets him explore his 80s synth fetish, drawing the electro-funk from the machines for a stunningly playful rework.
Following on from 'Tales Of Love' , 'XTC' is the second single taken off Deo & Z-Man's eagerly awaited debut album 'No Bullshit' which is set for a release in December
